Chamber of Commerce
A non-profit civic organization devoted to the encouragement and development of area businesses and the general economic climate. There are more than 200 businesses, organizations and individual members. Chamber staff and volunteers develop and manage community-wide annual.

Convention and Visitor Bureau

Economic Development Authority
The County Commission's designated lead agency for the promotion of job creation and private investment by business within the community. The Authority works to develop needed infrastructure and community development projects. The EDA office offers guidance, information and resource assistance to all types of businesses including agricultural businesses, small home-based businesses and larger employers. This Authority also provides low cost land options and markets the area to prospective job creating businesses.

Farmland Protection Board
Agriculture should continue as an integral and viable part of the area’s economy, landscape, natural resources, and sense of community. The mission of the Farmland Protection Board is to implement identified goals, objectives and policies for the protection and preservation of land best suited for farming in accordance with West Virginia State Code §8A-12-1 et seq.

Focuses on agricultural topics while providing leadership opportunities for grades 9-12. Involves classroom lab, and supervised agricultural experiences.

Health Department
The Health Department is the agency that issues permits and inspects food establishments in the county. Every food vendor, either permanent or temporary, must register with the department. It is then determined whether a permit is needed. The department is a supporter of farmers and farmers markets. Participants shall follow the 2005 FDA food code and the WV Farmers Market Vendor Guide.

Morgan County Association for Food and Farms (MCAFF)
The purpose of MCAFF is to support agriculture's contribution to a vital local economy, support local farms and farmers, encourage marketing of local farm products, expand community development, increase service to the underserved communities, develop farm and consumer education opportunities and preserve the natural resources of Morgan County. WVU Extension Service
Extension provides a variety of agriculture-related services in Agriculture & Natural Resources; Community, Economic, & Workforce Development, Families & Health; and 4-H Youth Development. Routine services offered locally and with Extension Specialists include: Master Gardener classes, County Fair entries, free soil sample kits, yearly garden calendars, pesticide applicator licenses, herbicide recommendations, plant and pest identification, aquaculture, bee, fruit, vegetable, pasture, livestock, wildlife control, and lawn care advice.

Farm Bureau
The Farm Bureau is a voluntary, non-governmental organization, wholly controlled by its members. Financed by membership dues, it exists to provide a means by which farmers can work together toward the goals upon which they agree. The Farm Bureau is always seeking new members.

Offers free business coaching to persons wanting to start a business/farm, expand their operations by exploring Farmers Markets or other distribution systems. The SBDC is also a resource to assist the agricultural community with various organizations and funding sources throughout the area. Small Farms Center- WVU Extension — Morgantown, WV
